Dirty Ice Cream
OREO cookies, ice cream, and mint.  What more could you want?

1 package oreo cookies
1/2 gallon ice cream
1/3 cup green creme de menthe
Pam non-stick cooking spray

Finely grind the OREO cookies in a food processor to make the dirt.

Spray a 9 X 13 inch baking dish VERY lightly with the non-stick cooking spray.  Wipe excess out with a paper towel.

Put 1/2 or a little more of the ground OREO cookies in the baking dish.  Take a glass with a flat bottom and compact the ground OREO cookies.  Or compact the dirt with your fingers.

Put the vanilla ice cream in a large bowl.  WIth a knife, cut the ice cream into four to eight cubes.  Add a GENEROUS 1/3 cup of Creme de Menthe.  Using a potato masher, mash the ice cream to blend the Creme de Menthe.  Do not let the ice cream completely melt to a liquid.  The ice cream should remain mushy.

Using a spatula, spread the green ice cream over the dirt in the baking dish.  Sprinkle the remaining dirt on top of the ice cream.  Cover with Saran Wrap, and put in the freezer for 24 hours.

If you are concerned about the alcohol in the creme de menthe, you can buy a creme de menthe flavored ice cream topping in the ice creaam section that contains no alcohol.  You have to use almost the whole bottle to get enough of the mint flavor.  In my opinion, the creme de menthe tastes MUCH better.

This makes a great dessert for company that you can prepare the day before.
